Juventus have taken a call on a possible late move for Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee, even as Fiorentina continue their efforts to bring him in.

Zirkzee is looking more and more likely to leave United before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

He remained an unused substitute on Sunday as United came from behind to defeat Ipswich Town 5-2, powered by a superb Bruno Fernandes hat-trick.

Michael Carrick has repeatedly indicated that Zirkzee is not a major part of his plans, and United are prepared to sanction his departure. Fiorentina are understood to have already submitted an offer for the Netherlands international.

It is believed La Viola want to sign Zirkzee on an initial loan worth around €4million – €5million, with specific conditions that could turn the switch into a permanent transfer. Reports suggest the overall package could rise to €34m if Zirkzee eventually joins Fiorentina on a permanent basis.

United are currently evaluating that proposal, while Zirkzee has still not given the final approval for a return to Italy.

A report previously carried relayed that Atletico Madrid are also monitoring the 25-year-old. Juventus were likewise said to be interested in Zirkzee, although that trail appeared to have gone quiet in recent weeks.

Now, Gianluca Di Marzio states that the Old Lady still have Zirkzee in their sights and are staying in touch with his representatives.

Di Marzio reports, “The Bianconeri continue to negotiate with Atletico Madrid for the sale of Jonathan David, while also considering a replacement.”

“In this regard, the direct line to Joshua Zirkzee remains active, with contacts both within the player’s entourage and with Manchester United.”

Di Marzio adds that Fiorentina are “pressing” United to let Zirkzee move to them.

United are next in action next Sunday when they travel to Everton.
