The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) successfully conducted the NEET‑PG 2026 examination nationwide on Sunday, with over 2.65 lakh candidates appearing across 1,111 centres in 339 cities.
The exam was supported by extensive monitoring, Aadhaar‑based authentication, live CCTV surveillance, and deployment of faculty members as independent appraisers and flying squads. Sixteen regional command centres and a dedicated NBEMS headquarters team ensured real‑time oversight.
However, a technical disruption at two centres in Jaipur affected 2,445 candidates, who will now re‑appear for the exam on September 5 at 3:00 PM. NBEMS expressed regret for the inconvenience, attributing the issue to internal power supply problems at the test centres managed by TCS.
Officials said the successful conduct of the exam nationwide reflects strong coordination among medical institutions, technology teams, and government agencies. The re‑test aims to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all affected candidates.
