Mathura: Mathura district administration has intensified preparations for Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival 2026. In view of the possibility of a large number of devotees from India and abroad reaching Mathura during the festival, administrative and police officials have started on-site inspection of the arrangements. In this sequence, around 10 pm on Friday night, District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Ojaswi Raj and other officials inspected Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple and surrounding areas.

During the inspection, the officials took stock of the preparations to the convenience of the devotees, security, traffic arrangements, cleanliness, beautification and crowd management. Officials gave necessary guidelines regarding the route of movement of devotees in the Janmabhoomi area, entry and exit arrangements and traffic operations in the surrounding areas.

In view of the possible huge crowd, the special focus of the administration is on crowd management and smooth movement of devotees. The officials instructed the concerned departments to work with mutual coordination and complete all the arrangements on time.
Instructions to maintain cleanliness
Municipal Commissioner Ojasvi Raj directed the Municipal Corporation officials to continuously maintain better cleanliness in the Janmabhoomi area and surrounding areas. Also asked to get the garbage disposal done on time and necessary arrangements to the convenience of the devotees to be completed on priority basis.

At the same time, police officers reviewed the security and traffic arrangements. In view of the increase in the number of devotees during Janmashtami, emphasis was laid on maintaining smooth traffic, controlling crowd and keeping security arrangements strong on major routes.

During the inspection, information about various works going on around the Janmabhoomi area was also taken. Where officials felt the need for necessary improvements, they instructed the concerned departments to take immediate action.
