Yogi Government Action : The Yogi government is on high alert over rising cases of H1N1 and seasonal flu in Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, on Saturday (August 29), Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brijesh Pathak held a review meeting with officials through video conferencing at the Swasthya Bhavan office in Lucknow. During the meeting he announced the necessary guidelines.
According to reports, Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak inquired about the health facilities from CMOs of all districts and CMOs and principals of medical colleges. He directed them to ensure adequate availability of medicines in hospitals. He also directed the health department to maintain proper testing system for H1N1 and seasonal flu and be fully alert.
Notification of bed availability
Brijesh Pathak gave strict instructions to the officials regarding availability of beds in hospitals. He directed the health department to maintain proper testing system and be vigilant for H1N1 and seasonal flu. He also directed to ensure the availability of doctors. He requested the doctors to be extra vigilant.
Strict instructions to pathology owners
The Deputy Chief Minister also issued strict instructions to the pathology owners. He clearly stated that no fee will be charged more than the prescribed fee for the test. Strict action will be taken against pathology owners if they charge more, he added. He said, the entire state has been put on alert mode. Medicines are available in sufficient quantity. No need to panic. He appealed to the public and said that there is no need to panic about flu cases, but caution and vigilance is necessary.
Increase in number of patients
Brijesh Pathak said that there has been a sudden increase in patients of H1N1, a type of viral fever, in the state, especially in western Uttar Pradesh and Lucknow. He said that special attention is being paid to identify all patients and ensure availability of medicines to them. He said that the entire state is on alert regarding flu and the government is prepared for any eventuality.
During the review meeting Additional Chief Secretary (Medical and Health) Amit Kumar Ghosh, Director General (Medical and Health Services) Dr. Pawan Kumar Arun and other senior officials of the Health Department were present.
Brijesh Pathak, while talking to the media, said, “Abundant supply of medicines is available, and any responsible officer who wants to go on leave can do so only with government permission. Extensive preparations have been made. There is no need to panic. We have put the entire state on alert to deal with this seasonal fever, and our government is ready for any eventuality.”
The chief minister gave instructions to the officials
Earlier last Friday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had issued strict instructions to state officials to continuously monitor swine flu cases. He directed all District Magistrates (DMs) and concerned officers to be extremely vigilant and ensure that hospitals are adequately prepared and equipped with necessary equipment. The Chief Minister also appealed to the public not to ignore the symptoms of swine flu under any circumstances and to undergo timely medical tests for early diagnosis and treatment.
