Samsung just added the Galaxy S26 FE to its Galaxy S26 lineup. The phone was shown during the Galaxy Event on August 27. This Fan Edition model is meant to be easier to reach, while still giving buyers features tied to the S26 line. It includes One UI 9 from the start. It also comes with Galaxy AI.

Before the event, Samsung teased the show as the arrival of the newest Galaxy S26 model. The company did not say the name in advance. Now Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S26 FE is the newest phone in the family.

Samsung Global Newsroom also notes that this launch comes after the earlier Galaxy S26 release. That earlier launch leaned heavily on AI-driven photo tools and daily help. With the S26 FE, Samsung seems to carry the same theme into the Fan Edition. It is not only aiming for cheaper specs.

Galaxy S26 FE Ships With One UI 9 From Launch

The Galaxy S26 FE stands out because it is the first Galaxy S26 model to arrive with One UI 9 already on board. Samsung notes that the update adds more Galaxy AI features that try to fit how people live day to day. It is meant to make routine work feel simpler.

One UI 9 also refreshes Now Brief. Samsung says it can show more tailored details using cards you can set up yourself. The cards can include things like weather and wellness tips. People can also build their own cards by using prompts.

Next, Samsung is widening Nudge. The feature will reach some third-party apps and notifications. The idea is to offer suggestions that match what is going on with the phone, so you may need fewer taps for everyday actions.

Circle to Search with Google is also updated. It can now spot more than one item in the same image. That gives users a faster path to look up products, locations, and other objects.

Camera Upgrades Are A Big Focus

The Galaxy S26 FE has three rear cameras. Samsung says it boosts both photo capture and editing after you shoot.  On the back, you get a 50 MP wide camera with OIS. There is also a 12 MP ultra-wide lens.  Plus an 8 MP telephoto unit that offers 3x optical zoom. The phone also uses a 12 MP front camera.

The weight is 193 grams.  Inside, Samsung uses the Exynos 2500 chip made on a 3nm process. It is paired with 8GB of RAM. Storage choices vary by region. Options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

Battery capacity is 4,900mAh. Wired charging supports 45W. Samsung states the phone can get to about 69% in roughly 30 minutes with a 45W charger. You also get wireless charging. Wireless PowerShare is included too. It ships with Android 17 and One UI 9. The device also has an IP68 water and dust rating.

Seven Years of Software Support

Samsung is stressing long support for the Galaxy S26 FE. The firm says the phone will get seven OS upgrade rounds and seven years of security fixes. This is counted from the global release date. The handset also brings a newer Smart Switch setup. It helps people switch from a matching Android or iOS device. Users can move more types of data over a wireless link. This can include saved passwords, passkeys, call logs, and eSIM details when the setup supports it.
