The Champions League 2026/27 draw pots have now been finalised after Wednesday's last qualifying matches confirmed the final four spots, completing the 36-team field.
El Periodico Mediterraneo reported that 29 clubs booked their places through their league finishes last season, while seven more advanced through the qualifying rounds. Spain and England will each have five representatives because of UEFA coefficient places, while Germany and Italy have four each and France has three.
Aston Villa secured qualification both via their Premier League finish and by lifting the Europa League. Because they qualified through both routes, an additional Portuguese place opened up and went to Sporting CP, the highest-ranked team not already directly qualified for the league phase.
Bodo/Glimt, LASK, Sabah, AEK Athens, Fenerbahce, Viking and Slovan Bratislava completed the final list of qualifiers and were placed into pots three and four according to UEFA coefficient rankings.
Pot 1: Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid.
Pot 2: Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Sporting CP, Aston Villa, Porto, Manchester United, Club Brugge, Real Betis, PSV Eindhoven.
Pot 3: Feyenoord, Lille, Bodo/Glimt, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Fenerbahce, Shakhtar Donetsk, Galatasaray.
Pot 4: Slavia Prague, Slovan Bratislava, Stuttgart, AEK Athens, LASK, Como, RC Lens, Viking, Sabah FK.
Under the competition format brought in three seasons ago, the pots serve only as a starting reference. Every club will play two opponents from each pot, and teams from the same national association cannot be drawn against one another.
