Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are holding talks today, 25 August, over the possible transfer of France international forward Bradley Barcola, 23, according to a report by David Ornstein. The Reds are keen to bring in the French attacker and have identified him as their top target before the summer transfer window shuts.
Discussions between the Ligue 1 champions and the Premier League club are being viewed as crucial in deciding how a possible move for the forward progresses. Barcola has made it clear to the Paris club that he is determined to join Liverpool at Anfield. With fewer than two years remaining on his current deal with PSG, Liverpool are not prepared to match the French club’s £145m valuation and would rather conclude an agreement closer to £100m.
A number of clubs have shown interest in signing the 23-year-old this summer, including Bayern Munich and Arsenal. However, the German champions have already finished their transfer business for this window, and while the Premier League champions admire Barcola’s qualities, they are not willing to come close to PSG’s asking price, which makes a deal increasingly unlikely.
