**What the Experts Say**
Gaurav Garg, Head of Research at Lemon Markets Desk, states that gold prices in the domestic market have surged due to a weak US dollar and the demand for safe-haven investments. Rising tensions between the US and Iran have shifted investor interest toward safe-haven assets. Gold prices have also risen in the international market; spot gold climbed by $42.45—an increase of nearly 1%—to reach $4,646.54 per ounce, while silver remained steady at approximately $69 per ounce.
According to analysts, gold's trajectory will no longer be determined solely by geopolitical tensions; the market will also keep a close watch on inflation and the stance of the US Federal Reserve. Kainat Chainwala, Associate Vice President (AVP) of Commodity Research at Kotak Securities, notes that if crude oil prices rise due to tensions in West Asia, the Federal Reserve could face increased challenges regarding inflation. The market will be watching to see whether the Fed views this rise as temporary or perceives it as posing a significant risk of inflation.
