The announcement followed the outfit’s National Working Committee meeting on Monday at 2 pm, where members reviewed what they described as the Central government’s failure to fulfil commitments made to the country’s youth.

The commitments included assurances on the withdrawal or quashing of FIRs registered against students and protesters, along with compensation for the families of deceased NEET victims.

‘Govt Playing Games’

The outfit accused the government of delaying action, hiding behind technicalities and avoiding clear commitments instead of implementing the assurances it had made.

“For a month now, instead of implementing what was solemnly promised, the Government has played delay games, hidden behind technicalities, and avoided giving clear commitments even before the Supreme Court of India,” the statement said.

It alleged that the Union government had also refused to commit to a Supreme Court directive seeking a list of FIRs registered across the country, which could allow the court to consider quashing them together.

The statement said the Supreme Court had repeatedly asked the Union government on August 18 to provide the list of FIRs so they could potentially be quashed in one go. It alleged that the government had yet to give a clear commitment, while its written assurance to the CJP was also pending.

The outfit said its patience should not be mistaken for weakness, adding that its “good faith” should not become an opportunity for the government to betray its commitments.
