Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder and convenor Abhijeet Dipke has written to education ministers, raising concerns over the condition of government schools across India. In the letter, Dipke sought details on school infrastructure, teacher vacancies, government spending, digital facilities and the availability of classrooms and basic amenities. He said children should not be forced to study in unsafe or inadequate conditions and urged governments to treat public education as an urgent priority, while making school data public.

He also called for greater transparency and accountability in public education systems nationwide.

Dipke Seeks School Data

In his letter, Dipke asked how many government schools had been renovated during the past five years and how many still required repairs or complete renovation.

He also sought figures on sanctioned teaching posts, filled positions and vacancies. The CJP founder asked the ministry to disclose how much money had been allocated to government schools over the past five years and how much had actually been spent.

Dipke further asked how many new government schools were needed to ensure reasonable access to quality education for every child.

Focus On Basic Facilities

The letter also sought information on non-teaching duties assigned to government school teachers. Dipke asked how many schools have adequate access to computers and digital learning facilities, clean and functional toilets, and proper sports facilities and equipment.

Dipke said many children still lack basic necessities such as safe drinking water, functional washrooms, proper classrooms and benches.

He questioned how the country could progress if children continued to struggle for basic facilities needed for education.

The CJP founder stressed that the issue was not about politics or any particular government, but about the future of children. He said every child, regardless of their background or their parents’ income, deserved a safe classroom, clean drinking water, a functional washroom, a bench and a teacher.

Dipke urged the education ministry to make the requested information public and take urgent steps to improve school infrastructure, and set clear timelines for addressing existing gaps. He said no child should be denied a dignified education because of inadequate facilities.
