Kolkata. After the West Bengal Assembly Elections, a relief news has finally emerged for the Trinamool Congress, which was facing continuous troubles. TMC recently maintained its dominance over the West Bengal Bar Council by winning a landslide victory on 15 out of 23 seats. Whereas BJP has faced disappointment in this election. Bharatiya Janata Party was reduced to only three seats in the Bar Council.

Let us tell you that before this, elections were held on a total of 23 seats of West Bengal Bar Council. Its results were declared on Wednesday. In the results, Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) has got 15 seats. Whereas Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 3 seats. Left Front could also win only 3 seats. Whereas Congress was reduced to 2 seats.
TMC also captures reserved seats
In these elections, according to the new rules of the Supreme Court, 5 out of 23 seats were reserved for women. Out of the reserved seats, 4 seats went to TMC and 1 seat to Congress. Now, under the guidelines of the Supreme Court, the Bar Council of India will nominate 2 more women members. After the addition of these two members, the total number of members of the West Bengal Bar Council will increase to 25.

BJP had got only 3 seats in the last elections also. That means the party neither gained nor suffered any loss. At the same time, Congress also managed to save its 2 seats. However, the Left suffered a loss in this election. The Left Front's seats reduced from 4 in the last election to 3.
Festive atmosphere in the camp of TMC supported lawyers
After the results, there is an atmosphere of celebration in the camp of TMC supported lawyers. Shubhashish Chakraborty of Trinamool Legal Cell became the candidate who won with the biggest margin. Apart from them, prominent TMC candidates like Vaishwanar Chatterjee, Ansar Mondal, Ashok Deb, Indranil Basu and Siddharth Mukherjee won. TMC Legal Cell member Sanjay Bardhan said that lawyers in all the district courts of the state had participated in the voting process. Now soon TMC will form its new board in the Bar Council.
