The political temperature has once again risen over the poor condition of government schools. The head of 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP) came into limelight demanding the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Abhijeet Dipke has now opened a front against the Maharashtra government. He has made very harsh remarks while demanding the resignation of State School Education Minister Dada Bhuse. Deepke alleged that the conditions of government schools in the state are extremely pathetic and the situation has become such that the pet dogs of politicians and ministers get better facilities than the students.
In fact, CJP has started the 'Fix School' campaign across the state only last week. In this connection, Abhijeet Deepke, who had come to visit the Zilla Parishad school located in Ujani village of Ausa tehsil of Latur district, got angry after seeing the arrangements. While talking to journalists, he talked about directly fixing the accountability of public representatives and ministers. He said that even today many schools neither have proper benches to sit, nor clean toilets nor safe classrooms. The situation has worsened so much that children are being forced to study in a very unsafe environment.
“Do people vote just to hang out in helicopters?”
Raising questions on the priorities of the leaders, Deepke also interacted directly with the public. He bluntly said that it is a question of the life and future of the coming generations. When public representatives are not able to do anything for the basic education of children, then why should people vote for them? He sarcastically asked whether the public elects leaders only to take them on helicopter rides?
Deepke appealed to the people to look at the conditions of their children and first of all ask for an account on the education system from the leader of every political party who comes to the village. He said that when the society can come together and take to the streets on issues of religion, caste and community, then why can't it come together to improve children's schools. Unless leaders do concrete work to improve schools, they should not be allowed to wander in the door.
Politics of religion vs future of children: Abhijeet Dipke's direct attack
Attacking the emotional issues that are constantly being raised in politics, Deepke said that often leaders create an atmosphere by saying that religion is in danger. Sanatan culture and religion have been intact for years, they are not going anywhere, but because of these basic carelessness, the future of millions of children is definitely going into darkness.
Giving a strong suggestion, he said that if the government really wants to understand the ground reality, then all the ministers and MLAs should compulsorily enroll their children in government schools. When their own children sit under leaking roofs, then the reality of the system will be understood. Deepke alleged that despite being in power for a long time, the government has completely failed to address the infrastructural deficiencies of schools.
Incidents of snake bites and the political power of 'Jen Ji'
Referring to the serious security crisis in government schools, he termed the recent snakebite cases as administrative failure. There is a danger of poisonous creatures due to the heaps of garbage and junk spread around the school premises. Deepke clarified that COJPA, along with local citizens, will not only intensify the movement for the repair of schools, but will also raise the demand for safe transportation system for students coming from remote places.
Along with this, he described the youth as the biggest strength of democracy and warned that in the upcoming elections, 'Gen G' will answer their neglect with the power of vote. While speaking on the CBI investigation into the NEET paper leak case in Latur, he alleged that the investigation seems to be limited only to the lower level actors, while efforts are being made to protect the big influential people.
