Vishwanath & Sons Box Office: Following Karuppu's success, Suriya recently featured in the family entertainer Vishwanath & Sons. The Tamil actor's movie opened to positive reviews from the audience and critics. Despite its box-office clash with Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947 and Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2, the movie registered a solid opening. Directed by Venky Atluri, the Suriya-starrer earned in double digits on day one of its theatrical release. Co-starring Mamitha Baiju and Radikaa Sarathkumar, the movie did good business in domestic as well as international markets.

According to tracking website Sacnilk,   took a bumper start at the box office with a collection of Rs 15.15 crore from 5,034 shows. The gross collection of the Suriya film stands at Rs 17.51 crore. It further minted Rs 10 crore in gross collection, bringing the total worldwide collection to Rs 27.51 crore.

 

On day one, Vishwanath & Sons collected Rs 9.15 crore in Tamil and Rs 6 crore in Telugu version. According to IMDb, the Venky Atluri directorial follows Sanjay Vishwanath who has spent years as an international shooter. However, when 'age, family duties, and an unexpected romance collide', he has to confront what truly makes a life worth living.

Vishwanath & Sons has performed better than Sunny's partition drama Batwara 1947. The Bollywood film, helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi, collected Rs 5.75 crore on day one. As for Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2, the romantic thriller earned a whopping Rs 21 crore on its opening day. Compared to this project, the Suriya-starrer lags behind in the box office game.

Meanwhile , was the first celebrity to share his review of Vishwanath & Sons. The actor took to his X (formerly Twitter) account and wrote, "VenkyAtluri what writing man…!! Beautiful characters and stunning performances!! A wholesome film that keeps you smiling throughout and fills your heart with love!! Would love to watch it again….Many Congratulations vamsi84 for VishwanathAndSons!!"

Talking about the film, it is expected to premiere on Netflix after concluding its theatrical run.
