Delhi-NCR Weather: The weather in Delhi-NCR took a turn for the worse on Monday afternoon. Rain accompanied by strong winds began in many areas. The capital and surrounding areas have been receiving intermittent rainfall for the past four to five days. Monday’s rain brought relief to those suffering from humidity and heat.
Thunderstorms accompanied by rain, darkness prevailed during the day
During the rain, loud thunderclaps were heard in many areas, and the sky was covered in thick clouds. The situation became so dim that many places appeared dark even during the day. The rain also affected traffic, slowing down vehicles on highways. Due to poor visibility, many drivers had to drive with their headlights on even during the day.
It rained in many parts of the capital on Sunday as well.
Earlier on Sunday, rain lashed various parts of Delhi and the NCR. The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in the capital region over the next five days. Therefore, it’s unlikely that people will see any relief from the rain in the coming days.
Rainfall from August 5 to 7 left many areas flooded.
Delhi and neighboring cities also experienced heavy rain on August 5th, 6th, and 7th. The continuous downpour caused waterlogging in many areas. The waterlogging on the roads caused significant traffic problems for people.
There is a possibility of rain on August 14 and 15 as well.
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain is expected in many parts of Delhi on August 14 and 15. Wind speeds are expected to be between 10 and 15 kilometers per hour. Westerly winds are expected on August 14, while northwesterly winds are expected the following day, August 15.
