Business Desk – Stock Market Update Today: The Indian stock market witnessed a mixed trend during early trading on Thursday, August 6th. The BSE Sensex is trading at 78,700, up nearly 150 points (0.20%). The NSE Nifty 50 is trading marginally lower by 10 points (0.04%), trading at 24,600.

Regarding sectoral indices, selling pressure is being seen in IT and auto stocks today. On the other hand, buying in banking stocks is continuing, providing support to the market.

Juniper Green Energy IPO Listing: Shares List with a 9% Premium

Juniper Green Energy shares had a strong debut on the stock market today. The company’s shares were listed at ₹245 on the NSE and ₹242 on the BSE. The company’s IPO issue price was ₹225 per share. Accordingly, the stock listed on the NSE with a premium of approximately 9%.

Juniper Green Energy’s IPO was open to investors from July 30 to August 3, 2026. The company had set a price band of ₹214 to ₹225 per equity share. This IPO received a good response from investors and was subscribed 7.97 times (7.97x Subscription).

Asian Markets Today: Heavy Pressure in Asian Markets

Weakness is being seen in Asian stock markets as well as in the Indian market. The Kospi (South Korea) is trading down 252 points, or 3.97%, at 6324. The Nikkei (Japan) is down 1034 points, or 1.56%, at 65267.

The Hang Seng (Hong Kong) is trading down 510 points, or 1.97%, at 25406. This weakness in Asian markets is also impacting Indian market sentiment.

US Market Update: Mixed Trading in the US Market

US stock markets saw mixed closings on Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 263 points, or 0.49%, to close at 54,349. The Nasdaq Composite fell 222 points, or 0.83%, to close at 26,363. The S&P 500 declined 13 points, or 0.17%, to close at 7,724.

FII-DII Data: Foreign Investors Continue Buying

Regarding investor sentiment in the market, DII (Domestic Institutional Investors) made purchases worth ₹2,883 crore in the latest trading session. This means that foreign investors sold in the latest session, but in the past seven days, they have purchased shares worth ₹2,703 crore.
