In an Instagram video, Bajaj said the arrangement “makes no sense” and warned that combining his World Cup processes with the existing setup could guarantee failure. However, he stressed that he fully supports whoever coaches India, calling it his national team.

Taking to Instagram, Bajaj shared a video explaining why he could not accept the arrangement, insisting that his decision was made solely with the national team’s best interests in mind.
Bajaj said the proposed setup “makes no sense at all” and highlighted the importance of the processes established by his team for World Cup preparation. He claimed that his “world class team” had put specific systems in place and ensured they were followed thoroughly, suggesting that changing or combining the existing structure could negatively impact India’s preparations.
The Minerva Academy owner further warned that combining his setup with the existing coaching structure could potentially lead to failure at the tournament. “Putting both is as good as guaranteed failure for my nation,” Bajaj said, while making it clear that he would not take any decision that could compromise India’s chances at the World Cup.
Despite his disagreement with the arrangement, Bajaj stressed that his commitment to the national team remains unwavering. He said he would fully support whoever is appointed as the coach because, regardless of the circumstances, it remains “my national team.” His comments suggest that his concerns are about the structure and process rather than opposition to any particular coach.
