Ingredients for honey chili potatoes:
Three potatoes, 1 teaspoon vinegar, salt to taste, 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup cornflour, salt to taste, a pinch of black pepper powder, a pinch of baking soda, and 3/4 cup water.
Ingredients for sauce and tossing: 2-3 tablespoons oil, 1 tablespoon ginger, 2 tablespoons garlic, 2 green chilies, 2 tablespoons Schezwan sauce, 1 tablespoon red chili sauce, 3 tablespoons ketchup, 1 teaspoon soy sauce, 2-3 tablespoons honey, salt to taste, and 2 tablespoons cornflour.
How to make honey chili potatoes?
Cut the peeled potatoes into French fry shapes. Then, bring the potatoes to a boil in water with water, vinegar, and salt. Cook the potatoes for 3-4 minutes, then remove and set aside to cool.
To make the batter, combine flour, cornflour, salt, pepper powder, baking soda, and water in a large bowl and whisk continuously to form a slightly thick batter. Be sure to add the water slowly while whisking.
Next, dip the blanched potatoes in the batter, coat, and fry until lightly golden brown. Once the potatoes are lightly golden, remove them. Repeat this step again. This will ensure crispy potatoes.
Now, to make the sauce, place a pan on the stove and add oil. Add ginger, garlic, and green chilies, stir, and cook over high heat for a few seconds. Then, add the Schezwan sauce and the remaining sauce ingredients, honey, and mix well. Cook over high heat for 1 minute. Then, add a little water and let the sauce simmer.
Next, prepare a slurry by mixing cornflour and water in a separate bowl. Then, while stirring constantly, add this slurry to the sauce. When the sauce thickens, add the fried potatoes. Mix the potatoes well with the sauce. Your honey chili potatoes are ready.
