In a recent report, The Independent stated that Manchester United have earmarked Arsenal left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly as a target for the ongoing summer transfer window. It is believed that the Red Devils are keen on signing the English defender during this off-season.
Lewis-Skelly played an important part in Mikel Arteta’s squad last season, producing a series of dependable displays for the Gunners down the left side. The English youngster featured in 36 matches for Arsenal in the last campaign and registered four assists across all competitions.
The 19-year-old is currently regarded as one of the brightest young full-backs in the Premier League. So, it is hardly surprising that the Red Devils are interested in taking him to Old Trafford in this transfer window.
His existing contract at the Emirates Stadium is set to run until the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Manchester United to sign him for a low fee this off-season.
Lewis-Skelly is a strong tackler who reads danger well and can come up with the occasional interception for his side inside his own half. He usually clears his lines when needed and is also a neat passer from the left flank.
The English whizkid has the vision to carve out promising opportunities for his teammates to score and can also contribute with some crucial assists for his team. Lewis-Skelly is mainly a left-back, but he can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder or a defensive midfielder when required. He is already well acquainted with the Premier League and should not need much time to settle into life at the Mancunian club.
One can expect Lewis-Skelly to improve the quality of Manchester United boss Michael Carrick’s defence. He has the ability to challenge for a regular first-team place at the Theatre of Dreams next season.

He would also strengthen the Red Devils’ ability to compete on all fronts in the years to come. Therefore, Carrick should make every effort to sign Lewis-Skelly before this transfer window closes.
