Juventus midfielder Teun Koopmeiners continues to draw interest from the Premier League as uncertainty surrounds his future at the Allianz Stadium. According to Calciomercato, Aston Villa and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the Dutch midfielder’s situation in Turin.

Koopmeiners, who arrived at Juventus from Atalanta in a €55 million transfer in 2024, has slipped down the midfield hierarchy. In fact, head coach Luciano Spalletti now considers the 28-year-old surplus to requirements, with the club aiming to move him on in the coming weeks.

To put that into perspective, Koopmeiners made only 18 starts in Serie A last season. Although he featured 33 times in the league overall, he did not manage a single goal contribution. Consequently, Spalletti has placed the Dutchman on the transfer list, while Juventus are hoping to recover at least part of the money they spent on him.

Juventus cannot realistically expect any club to pay €55m after Koopmeiners’ disappointing spell in Turin. However, the Italian giants are willing to let the underperforming midfielder leave on loan, and that could help pave the way for his departure this summer.

With Douglas Luiz back after a respectable short-term loan spell at Aston Villa, Koopmeiners’ hopes of working his way back into Spalletti’s plans look slimmer than ever. Therefore, he is also keen to bring this unhappy association to an end, though Juventus will not allow him to leave for less than €30m.

Juventus’ asking price should not put off Manchester United and Aston Villa, particularly the Red Devils, who are currently undergoing a summer rebuild under Michael Carrick. Even so, it is worth noting that their main focus remains a move for Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga.
