Tejaswin Shankar Becomes First Indian To Win Medal In Decathlon, Seals Historic Bronze At CWG 2026 Despite Knee Injury

Tejaswin Shankar has become the first Indian athlete to ever win a medal at the Commonwealth Games decathlon after finishing on the podium at CWG 2026. Shankar, who had to withdrow from the high jump earlier due to injury, battled through to secure the bronze medal in Glasgow.
Shankar ended with an overall tally of 7976 points. Grenada’s Lindon Victor took the gold with 8096, while Canada’s Damian Warner clinched silver with 8036 points.
