At the Los Angeles premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on Monday at the Dolby Theatre, Zendaya and her longtime stylist Law Roach once again found a way to reference the superhero world without making the outfit feel like a costume. The overall look was dramatic, polished and unmistakably fashion-forward.
But the real surprise was hiding down at her feet.
The Shoes Had A Secret Spider-Man Reference
At first glance, Zendaya's custom Christian Louboutin heels look like a pair of elegant black pumps. Look a little closer, though, and the connection to Spider-Man becomes impossible to miss.
The shoes were made from sheer black lace, giving them a delicate, almost see-through appearance. The lace featured a web-like pattern, which worked as a quiet reference to the superhero without spelling it out.

Zendaya teamed the statement heels with a custom black Ashi Studio Fall 2026 couture gown, and the pairing couldn't have been more dramatic.
The dress featured a deep plunging neckline and a sharply tailored bodice that hugged her figure before giving way to an exaggerated, voluminous skirt. Layers of heavy ruffles added plenty of movement, while the long train made the gown feel even more theatrical as she walked the red carpet.
Her jewellery, meanwhile, was deliberately restrained. Zendaya opted for long diamond drop earrings, adding a touch of sparkle without competing with the intricate gown or those carefully considered shoes.
And that's perhaps what made the entire look work so well. Nothing felt random. The dress brought the drama, the shoes carried the Spider-Man reference, and the jewellery simply added a little light.

Her beauty look followed the same dark, polished mood.
Zendaya wore her hair slicked back in a wet-look style, keeping the finish sleek and sculpted. A few strands were carefully shaped across her forehead into curved lines, adding another graphic element to the look.
Her makeup was kept clean and defined, with the eyes taking centre stage while the rest of her face stayed relatively understated.
It was a look that didn't need a giant spider or an obvious comic-book reference to make its point. Zendaya and Law Roach let the details do the work instead.
