Audi has unveiled the Q9, its largest and most expensive SUV ever. This marks the brand's first use of '9' and positions the model above the existing Q7 as a second three-row model. It's priced from 108,400 EUR in Germany, roughly Rs 1.18 crore before Indian taxes and duties, with international deliveries starting November 2026 and a confirmed India launch in the second quarter of 2027, where it'll be locally assembled. This matters for Indian buyers in the ultra-luxury SUV segment because the Q9 will go straight up against the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS, two established rivals with years of local sales history already behind them. Audi Q9: What Does It Look Like?
At 5,309mm long, 2,010mm wide and 1,794mm tall on a 3,138mm wheelbase, the Q9 is a genuinely large SUV, offered with wheel sizes from 20 to 23 inches. The front gets Digital Matrix LED headlights capable of projecting warning symbols onto the road along with turn signals that project directional indicators onto the ground at night, sitting behind a large illuminated grille. Automatic doors with collision-detection sensors and curved digital OLED taillights round out the exterior. A sportier SQ9 variant is also offered internationally, with a distinct grille, bumper as well as wheel design.

Audi Q9: What's Inside?
The Q9 seats seven as standard, with a six-seat captain's-chair layout available at extra cost and every seat across all three rows is power-adjustable. The dashboard runs a three-screen layout: a 12.3-inch driver display, a 14.5-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch passenger screen with a privacy mode, all running Android Automotive OS. Buyers also get Audi's largest-ever panoramic sunroof, a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system with headrest speakers and USB Type-C charging across all three rows. On safety, it includes Level 2 ADAS and Audi's new Adaptive Driving Assistant Plus. This feature enables partially automated driving on approved highways up to 130 kmph, a first for the brand.
