Madhya Pradesh Cabinet approved ₹2480 crore. Hockey Champions Trophy, IT Park, Drone Centre, irrigation projects, women empowerment and farmer bonus schemes got big relief.

Bhopal. In the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, many important decisions were taken which will give new impetus to the development of the state. Financial approvals worth about Rs 2,480 crore were approved in the meeting. Many schemes related to sports, irrigation, information technology, women empowerment, employee welfare and farmers' welfare were approved. The government says that these decisions will strengthen the infrastructure in the state, increase employment opportunities and increase the scope and impact of public welfare schemes.

MP Sports News: Women's Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2026 to be held in Bhopal

The Council of Ministers has given in-principle approval of Rs 18 crore 74 lakh for organizing the Women's Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2026 at the International Sports Complex located at Barkheda Nathu, Bhopal in October 2026. Six leading women's hockey teams of Asia including India, China, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand will participate in this prestigious competition. Around 200 players and support staff will reach Bhopal.

The competition will be jointly organized by Hockey India and the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. Of the expenditure on the event, Rs 11 crore will be given to Hockey India under 'Presenting Partner Rights', while the remaining amount will be spent on other arrangements. The government believes that this event will give international recognition to the sports infrastructure of Madhya Pradesh and will also promote tourism activities.

MP Irrigation Projects: Rihand and Malhargarh projects get new approval

To strengthen the agriculture and irrigation sector, the government has decided to continue the operation of two important projects. Rs 111 crore 4 lakh has been sanctioned for the Rihand Micro Irrigation Project of Singrauli. Through this project, micro irrigation facility is being provided in about 38 thousand hectares of area in 119 villages. Whereas, approval of Rs 184 crore 20 lakh has been given for Malhargarh Large Lift Irrigation Project of Mandsaur. The objective of this project is to develop irrigation potential in 46,500 hectare area in the district.

Drone Technology MP: Center of Excellence to be built in IISER Bhopal

To take the state forward in the field of new technology and innovation, the Council of Ministers has approved a total of Rs 857 crore 21 lakh including various schemes of the Science and Technology Department. Under this, a center of excellence based on drone technology will be established in IISER Bhopal. The total cost of this project is Rs 85 crore 51 lakh, out of which Rs 17 crore 90 lakh will be released for the next three years. This center will work on Artificial Intelligence (AI), drone simulation, digital twin technology, UAV design, autonomous systems and advanced research. Besides, facilities like startup incubation and prototype development will also be provided.

MP IT Park: 8000 youth will get employment

To expand the IT sector in the state, approval has been given to continue the IT Park Establishment Scheme till the year 2031. Rs 595 crore has been sanctioned for this. IT parks and IT towers developed in Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior will attract investors and give impetus to industrial activities. According to the government, this scheme will provide employment and self-employment opportunities to more than 8 thousand local youth. It is noteworthy that till now about 22 thousand youth have got employment.

Digital Madhya Pradesh: Promotion of new technology and digital services

The government has sanctioned Rs 110 crore for new technology based services through MPSEDC and other entities. This includes initiatives like AI and machine learning based business intelligence, WhatsApp chatbot, drone services, e-sign, state email policy, low-code and no-code platforms and cyber security audits. Apart from this, Rs 40.20 crore has been approved for Madhya Pradesh State Spatial Data Infrastructure (MPSSDI) scheme and Rs 26.50 crore for management and expansion of cloud services.

Women Empowerment MP: Rs 198 crore approved for Mission Shakti

To promote women empowerment, Rs 198 crore 59 lakh has been sanctioned for Sankalp-Hub for Empowerment of Women, Shakti Sadan and Sakhi Niwas schemes under Mission Shakti's sub-plan 'Samarthya'. Sankalp-Hub will provide information about government schemes and rights to women. Shakti Sadan will provide a safe environment to women in distress, while Sakhi Niwas will provide safe housing facility for working women.

Employee Welfare News: Rs 982 crore to pension and employee welfare schemes

The Council of Ministers has approved Rs 982 crore 49 lakh for the operation of employee welfare, pension, provident fund and insurance schemes. This amount will be used in the operation of Pension Directorate, District Pension Offices, Employees Group Insurance Scheme, Family Welfare Fund and other related schemes.

Farmers Bonus Scheme: Bonus payment scheme to farmers will continue

The government has decided to continue the bonus payment scheme to farmers earning on support price. This scheme, costing more than Rs 500 crore, will be operated continuously till the period of 16th Finance Commission, which will enable farmers to get better benefits from their produce.

Gwalior and Narayangarh also got a gift

The Cabinet has approved setting up of a new circle office of Electrical Safety Inspectorate in Gwalior and creation of nine new posts. This will directly benefit the industrial areas of Gwalior and Chambal divisions. At the same time, approval has been given for the creation of nine new posts including District and Additional Sessions Judge in Narayangarh of Mandsaur district. This will strengthen the judicial system at the local level and people will be able to get quick justice.

MP Cabinet Meeting 2026: Big bet on development, employment and public welfare

The decisions taken in this meeting of the Council of Ministers clearly indicate that the state government is equally focusing on areas like sports, technology, agriculture, women empowerment and employment generation. With approvals worth about Rs 2,480 crore, the impact of these schemes is expected to be visible on both the development and public interest of the state in the coming years.
