After this decision, now both entry and exit services have started normally on the entire metro network, due to which lakhs of daily commuters who have been troubled for the last several days have heaved a sigh of relief.
That four-day 'blackout': When the wheels of 18 big stations stopped
Due to the sudden security situation and protests in Delhi, on administrative orders, strict restrictions were imposed on the 18 busiest stations called the heart of Central Delhi. These stations included Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, Janpath, Patel Chowk, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi, Shivaji Stadium, Jhandewalan, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh and Seva Tirtha stations. During these four days, trains were operating at these stations, but no passenger could either come in or go out of the station. DMRC informed by tweeting that the entry and exit gates of all the closed stations of Delhi Metro network have now been fully opened for passengers. With this, metro services have become completely normal on the entire network. After this announcement, normal activity was seen again at the busiest stations like Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Mandi House and New Delhi. Ticket counters and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates were also reopened. This one post brought a smile on the faces of millions of people leaving for work on Sunday morning.
