Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday launched several new welfare schemes for registered construction workers in the state. In the program organized under 'Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board', he also flagged off two modern mobile medical vans under 'Mukhyamantri Shramik Swasthya Yojana'. Through these vans, health services will now be delivered directly to construction sites and laborers living in remote areas.

Uttarakhand Labor Welfare Scheme: Launch of many new schemes for workers and families

In the program organized at the Chief Sevak Sadan located at the Chief Minister Camp Office, Dhami said that the state government is continuously working to improve the living standards of the workers. He said that the objective of the new schemes is not only to provide financial assistance but also to strengthen the health, education and dignified life of labor families.

He informed that under the 'Chief Minister Nutrition Scheme', nutritious food will be provided to the labor families. At the same time, through 'Mukhyamantri Shiksha Samagri Yojana', children of registered construction workers will be given necessary materials for studies. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Mission, 'Chief Minister Sanitary Material Distribution Program' has also been started, under which hygiene kits will be distributed to labor families.

Youth will get training and employment through Chief Minister Yoga and Wellness Scheme

The Chief Minister said that under 'Mukhyamantri Yoga and Wellness Arogya Yojana', eligible students from labor families will be given free yoga and wellness training. Every year 210 students will get the opportunity of residential training. Apart from this, arrangements have also been made to provide employment to 70 youth undergoing technical training after completion of their training.

Mobile Medical Van: Now free health care will reach construction sites

Dhami said that the Labor Welfare Board is working with complete transparency so that the benefits of the schemes reach the genuine eligible workers. He informed that under the 'Chief Minister Workers Health Checkup Scheme', mobile medical vans will go directly to the construction sites and residential areas of the workers. Especially the laborers living in remote areas will get the most benefit from it.

44 types of tests including X-ray, ECG will be available free of cost in these medical vans. If needed, facility of tele-consultation from specialist doctors will also be provided. After the examination, the health condition of the patients will also be regularly monitored for three months. This scheme is currently being started from Pauri Garhwal and Champawat districts. Later it will be implemented in entire Uttarakhand in a phased manner.

Mentioned PM Modi's 'Shramev Jayate' mantra

Chief Minister Dhami said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given new respect to the workers of the country by giving the mantra of 'Shramev Jayate' in the year 2014. He said that the state government is working with the spirit of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas', so that the benefits of development reach the last person of the society. In this, workers living in remote areas are also equal partners.

Called workers as strong partners in the government's development journey.

The Chief Minister said that the government considers workers not just as manpower but as the real force for the development of Uttarakhand. He said that the hands which are contributing to the development of the state, the government wants that they should also get a safe, healthy and dignified life.

Help will be available till education, maternity assistance, marriage and pension.

The Chief Minister said that the government is already providing financial assistance for education of workers' children, maternity assistance to women workers, nutrition assistance and marriage of daughters of registered workers. Apart from this, tools, bicycles and sewing machines are also being provided to the workers to make them self-reliant. Financial assistance is being provided to build or buy a house, while social and economic security is being ensured by giving pension to senior construction workers every month.

Appeal for renewal of registration

Chief Minister Dhami appealed to all the eligible construction workers to keep renewing their registration from time to time, so that they continue to get the benefits of all the welfare schemes of the government. During the program, Board Secretary P.C. Dumka also shared detailed information about various activities and new schemes of the Board.
