At present there is a fierce battle between the central government and the opposition regarding the paper leak and massive protests by students. Amidst this political tussle, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi created a sensation on Friday by making a huge claim. He alleged before the media that his microphone was deliberately “switched off” inside Parliament.

Putting full emphasis on his point, Rahul Gandhi has bluntly said that until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns from his post and Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself apologizes to the students of the country, there will be no discussion or negotiation of any kind with the government.

Kiren Rijiju’s allegation and opposition’s counterattack

Earlier, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju had made a serious allegation on the opposition that they are “running away” from debating all the important issues to paper leak and education in this monsoon session of Parliament.

Along with this, Minister Rijiju had also appealed to all the opposition parties to meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and decide the correct date, time and rules for discussing the NEET paper leak in the House so that the country’s precious time is not wasted. Interestingly, the opposition itself had demanded an open discussion on these issues of the students in the House, but they were adamant that the adjournment motion should be accepted for debate on it.

Rahul Gandhi exposed outside the Parliament

While talking openly to journalists just outside the Parliament House, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi vented his anger. He said that just now the statement of Minister Kiren Rijiju had come in which he said that he wants us to allow discussion in the House. According to the rules and general protocol, if someone takes your name, you should have full right to express your views and respond.

He further said that Rijiju said that we should discuss, but as soon as I tried to respond while standing in the House, my microphone was immediately switched off and I was not given any chance to speak.

Three big conditions of the opposition, without agreeing the matter will not be resolved.

Rahul Gandhi declared in very clear words that the entire stand of the opposition is based only on the three main demands of the students. He said that our first demand is that this corrupt education minister should be immediately removed from his post. The second demand is that strict action should be taken against those who lathicharged innocent students and beat them badly and their accountability should be fixed. And the third demand is that the Prime Minister of the country himself should come forward and apologize to the students.

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi made it clear in a blunt manner that until Shri Dharmendra Pradhan is removed from his post, we will not hold any talks or discussions with the government at all. This is our final decision.

Why is the deadlock increasing between the government and the opposition?

Congress MP Tariq Anwar has also strongly supported the claim that Rahul Gandhi was not allowed to speak in the House. Talking to the media, he said that the kind of attitude adopted today is very surprising and unfortunate. It is completely undemocratic to stop the biggest leader of the opposition from speaking.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav also slammed the government and said that there is no mutual deadlock between the government and the opposition, rather the government itself does not want to listen. He said that we just want the Education Minister to resign on moral grounds so that the country can move forward, but the government does not want to listen because of its arrogance. Congress MP Kumari Selja also cornered the government and said that this government is no longer able to understand the thing called morality, students have been treated very cruelly and our demand is that all the fake FIRs registered should be withdrawn.
