Leeds United are ‘in the mix’ as a possible destination for Bosnia striker Ermedin Demirovic, who could be set for a summer transfer after featuring at the World Cup.

The Whites have stepped up their activity in the transfer market by bringing in Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic, while they are also edging closer to signing goalkeeper James Trafford.

The shot-stopper is expected to arrive from Manchester City, but Leeds have had to accept a release clause in his contract as the cost of completing the deal.

Daniel Farke will also be eager to add more strength to his attacking department, especially after having to depend heavily on Dominic Calvert-Lewin to carry the load last season.

Farke has often preferred to do business in Germany whenever the chance has been there, and Leeds may now look at Demirovic of Stuttgart.

The Whites are ‘in the mix’ for the Stuttgart forward, according to German journalist Dennis Bayer.

Juventus and Fenerbahce are also interested in the striker, and Stuttgart boss Sebastian Hoeness would be willing to sell him.

There is no full agreement inside the club about cashing in, while the player also wants to remain, but if strong offers arrive then the situation could be reassessed.

Leeds were linked with Demirovic earlier this summer, although the striker said it was difficult to find a place as good for him as Stuttgart.

Attention will now be on whether a move for the striker is pushed through in the coming days and weeks, as Leeds begin their pre-season tour.

Stuttgart signed the Bosnia international striker from fellow German side Augsburg in 2024 and his good form earned him a place in his country’s squad at the World Cup.

Leeds are not only concentrating on new signings, as trimming the squad is also on the agenda.

Defender Max Wober has ended his contract at Elland Road and signed for Schalke, whom he has described as a special club.

Winger Largie Ramazani remains linked with a departure, with Valencia still keen to bring him back to Spain this summer.
