According to the New York Times, the actress’ father, Joshua Hottel, broke the news in a Facebook livestream using American Sign Language, saying she died in a car accident in Maryland and that he was flying to Texas to collect her body.
Apart from this, Texas School for the Deaf, where actress Kelly Hottle was a senior, also confirmed this news in a statement. Hottel and his father are both deaf and come from a family with generations of deaf people, reports variety.com.

For the film ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’, released in the year 2021, casting director Sarah Haley Finn was looking for an actor who actually cannot hear and could play the character of ‘Zia’. During this time, an assistant director of ‘Kong: Skull Island’ told him about the Kelly Hotel seen in an advertisement of Convo.
