The Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) is mandatory for various recruitment drives in Uttar Pradesh. This exam is conducted annually. Candidates wishing to appear for this exam should intensify their preparations. According to reports, the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) may begin registration for the PET exam in the first week of August 2026.

**OTR Process Begins Before Application; Complete One-Time Registration Immediately**
UPSSSC has made One-Time Registration (OTR) mandatory for recruitment exams, including the PET. The link for OTR is active on the website upsssc.gov.in. Candidates are advised to visit the site and complete their One-Time Registration as soon as possible to avoid any issues while filling out the application form later.

**Eligibility Criteria for PET**
To fill out the UP PET 2026 application form, candidates must have passed at least Class 10 from a recognized board. Students who complete Class 10 (or an equivalent qualification) by the application deadline are also eligible to apply.

**Age Limit**
To participate in the UP PET, candidates must be at least 18 years old and not older than 40 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories—such as SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD)—are granted age relaxation in accordance with the rules.

**Application Fee**
Candidates from the General and OBC categories are required to pay a fee of ₹185 to participate in the Uttar Pradesh Preliminary Eligibility Test; SC/ST candidates must pay ₹95, and candidates from the PH (Physically Handicapped) category must pay ₹25. The fee can be paid online.
