Potentially encouraging developments have emerged for Premier League sides Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, as midfielder Alex Scott has turned down Bournemouth’s latest contract offer.

The 22-year-old enjoyed an outstanding season with the Cherries, which earned him a call-up from Thomas Tuchel to England’s pre-World Cup training camp. Having joined Bournemouth three years ago in a £25 million transfer, Scott’s performances have once again put him in the spotlight of several top clubs.

Scott still has two years remaining on his current contract, and at present, there is no sign that he plans to extend his stay at the Vitality Stadium. According to Standard Sport, Bournemouth first tabled a new deal for Scott in March, confident that an agreement could be finalised at that time.

However, the midfielder opted not to sign the proposed deal, and negotiations have since slowed considerably. Bournemouth have reportedly received no indication that Scott intends to commit his long-term future to the South Coast club.

It is understood that both Arsenal and Chelsea have expressed informal interest in the England international, although neither has made a formal approach so far. Manchester United, too, are believed to be keeping close watch as they explore potential additions to strengthen their midfield options.

Bournemouth, for their part, have made it clear that Scott is not for sale this summer and will remain a key part of their squad for the upcoming campaign, regardless of whether he agrees to new terms. Even though he has entered the final two years of his existing agreement, the club is not under pressure to sell.

The Cherries see Scott as a vital figure in their preparations for what will be their first-ever season competing in European football. The midfielder is currently in Austria with his teammates as Bournemouth begin their pre-season training under head coach Marco Rose.
