Delhi Capitals and Bengal cricketer Abishek Porel is facing legal action after the Calcutta High Court directed police to arrest him in connection with a rape case filed by a woman who has accused him of sexual assault on the false promise of marriage.

The High Court also instructed the Mogra Police to seize Porel's electronic devices to prevent the alleged circulation of intimate photographs and videos of the complainant.

According to the complaint, the woman alleged that Porel established a physical relationship with her after promising to marry her. She further claimed that he recorded their private moments and later subjected her to assault, criminal intimidation, and threats to circulate the intimate content.

In its order, the High Court observed that investigators had already seized one storage device but said additional electronic devices allegedly in the possession of the accused must also be recovered to prevent any further dissemination of sensitive material.

The court noted that police had initiated efforts to apprehend the accused but had not yet succeeded. It directed the authorities to continue their efforts to arrest the accused and seize all relevant electronic devices as part of the ongoing investigation. Porel Denies Allegations

Abishek Porel has denied all the allegations made against him.

The complainant has alleged that Porel repeatedly threatened to leak her intimate photos and videos.

According to her complaint, she and the cricketer had been in a relationship for the past three years. She claimed their relationship deteriorated last year when Porel allegedly began distancing himself despite previously assuring her that he would marry her.
