The Indian batter Ashutosh Sharma will be playing for Hampshire in the upcoming England Domestic One-Day Cup 2026, which is set to begin on July 21.

The 27-year old player Ashutosh Sharma holds the record for the fastest men’s T20 fifty by an Indian batter for Railways against Arunachal Pradesh during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2023.

He has scored 458 List A runs in 21 matches and has taken six wickets, but it is in the IPL that he has stepped up as a big hitter down the order.

Playing for his domestic career with Madhya Pradesh in 2017, he has played in 91 matches to date across three formats and currently plays for Railways.

Making his debut for Punjab Kings, came into the spotlight as an impact substitute, smashing 31 runs off 17 deliveries. Ashutosh Sharma has represented Delhi Capitals for the last two seasons, scoring 350 runs at a strike rate of 170 across the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

“We’re really pleased to sign Ashutosh for the One-Day Cup,” Giles White, Hampshire Director of Cricket, said. “He is a player of great potential and has done well for Delhi Capitals in the IPL recently, so he knows what it’s like to perform to a high standard. We look forward to welcoming him into the group and seeing what he can do in a Hampshire shirt as we look to go one step further than last year in the competition.

Ashutosh Sharma has experience playing in the UK previously. He also represented Middlesex Titans in 2017 and Gravesend in 2022 and 2023.

Last year, he represented Wigan in the UK in 2025 by scoring a blistering century for Wigan just hours after landing in the country.

Hampshire are the losing finalists in last season’s One-Day Cup, and as per the England One-day Cup 2026 schedule, Hampshire will play their opener match against Yorkshire on July 21 at Scarborough.
