Kimi Antonelli continued his dominant form on Sunday morning, converting his sixth pole position of the season into a sixth race victory, further widening his points advantage over his Mercedes teammate and the rest of the grid at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps Circuit.

The opening lap of the Belgian Grand Prix proved decisive for Antonelli’s championship hopes, as his main title rivals, starting from third and fifth, and second and fourth on the grid, clashed within the first few corners on Sunday morning.

Entering Turn 6, George Russell was clipped by his former Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, which resulted in Russell retiring from the race on the very first lap.

Russell’s misfortune marked yet another setback in what was expected to be a dominant season for Mercedes, as his early retirement at Spa came after contact with Hamilton in the opening-lap incident.

Antonelli briefly lost the lead to Max Verstappen during the first lap but managed to reclaim it soon after as Hamilton and Russell’s collision brought out the safety car.

The safety car was deployed on lap 2 and remained in place until the end of lap 4, neutralising the field before racing resumed.

Once the race restarted, Antonelli maintained control, eventually taking a commanding victory ahead of Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen, who completed the podium.

Lewis Hamilton recovered to finish fourth, followed by Oscar Piastri in fifth and Isack Hadjar in sixth, the latter impressively climbing up from P20 to score valuable points.

Lando Norris secured seventh place despite serving a 10-place grid penalty, finishing ahead of Gabriele Bortoleto, who claimed points for Audi, along with Arvid Lindbald and Franco Colapinto.

Colapinto fought hard for the final point of the Belgian Grand Prix, fending off challenges from his teammate Pierre Gasly, Racing Bull’s Liam Lawson, and Audi’s Nico Hulkenberg, ultimately prevailing in the close contest to secure tenth place.
