Anupama Prakash, a talented actress and producer known for her work in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi cinema, views fashion as a deeper expression than merely following trends.
In her own words, Anupama emphasizes that true fashion starts with being authentic. She states, “For me, fashion is a way to express myself. It’s not just about looking appealing; it’s also about feeling confident, comfortable, and being true to my identity.”
Despite the influence of trends on social media and fashion shows, she insists that personal style should always come first. “While trends can be enjoyable, I don’t think it’s wise to follow them blindly. I prefer to choose what aligns with my personality and makes me feel authentic,” she notes, highlighting her commitment to comfort.
When off the set, her wardrobe embodies this philosophy. “On my days off, I gravitate towards relaxed and comfortable clothing—oversized shirts, denim, simple co-ords, cotton dresses, and sneakers,” Anupama shares, describing her casual style as laid-back and practical.
As an actress, she relishes the opportunity to embody various characters through their costumes and styling. “Each character has her unique universe, so I strive to grasp her personality before finalizing her look. Occasionally, their confidence and fashion choices inspire me, but I always return to my own comfort and style off-screen,” she elaborates.
With the monsoon season upon us, Anupama adopts a sensible approach to rainy-day fashion. “During the monsoon, I opt for lightweight cotton outfits, easy dresses, comfortable shoes, and minimal accessories. This keeps me at ease while maintaining a fresh and effortless appearance,” she explains.
For Anupama Prakash, fashion transcends the pursuit of fleeting trends; it’s about celebrating individuality, dressing with self-assurance, and allowing personal style to resonate more than brand labels.
