Tezzbuzz Desk – Even before the monsoon session of Parliament begins, political activities have intensified. Both the ruling party and the opposition have decided their respective agendas. In an important meeting held in the office of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday, the Central Government discussed the strategy for the upcoming session in detail. Along with floor management, several important bills and constitutional amendments were also considered in the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and many senior NDA leaders and representatives of allies were present. The government’s aim is said to be to effectively pass important bills through the House during the monsoon session.
Government will keep an eye on these big issues
The major topics that the government can give priority to include delimitation, women’s reservation, One Nation, One Election and other important legislative proposals. There is likely to be extensive debate within Parliament regarding these issues.
According to sources, the government is considering options to take forward the provisions to delimitation of Lok Sabha seats and women’s reservation. However, the final decision on these proposals will be taken only after discussion in Parliament and legislative process.
Opposition also prepared agenda
On the other hand, Congress and other parties of INDIA alliance have also prepared their strategy for the monsoon session. In the meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party, it has been decided to raise issues like unemployment, inflation, NEET issues, food security law, FCRA amendment and delimitation prominently. The opposition says that it will demand answers from the government on all these issues and will demand a comprehensive discussion in Parliament.
The monsoon session of Parliament will start from July 20 and continue till August 13. Before the start of the session, an all-party meeting is proposed on July 19, in which the government will appeal for cooperation from various parties and the smooth functioning of the House will be discussed.
