New Delhi: The conflict in West Asia has once again intensified. Iran has claimed that it has attacked several US military aircraft deployed in Jordan with ballistic missiles and drones. This attack is said to be in response to the American attacks inside Iran overnight. At least 8 people are reported dead in this attack.

IRGC claims: Fighter jets and tankers destroyed   

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, or IRGC, said that several American refueling tanker planes and fighter jets were destroyed in their attack. Many other aircraft also suffered serious damage.

IRGC also appealed to the people of Jordan to remain present in their country. "Offensive and anti-Islamic" Target American interests. However, this claim of Iran has not yet been confirmed by America or Jordan.

Syria’s Al-Tanf also accused of attack   

According to Iranian media, the IRGC also attacked the US Special Operations Command Center in Al-Tanf, Syria. They say that this attack has been carried out in revenge for the Iranian soldiers killed in Iranshahr.

It is noteworthy that the US Army had said in February 2026 that it had withdrawn from Al-Tanf base located at the confluence of the border of Syria, Jordan and Iraq. There has been no statement yet from either the Syrian government or the American Army on this attack.

Gulf countries also targeted   

Iran did not limit the scope of the attack to just Jordan. The sounds of explosions were also heard in Erbil and Sulaimaniya, the Kurdish region of northern Iraq. Apart from this, Tehran launched new missile attacks against other Gulf allied countries including Qatar. A power and water desalination plant in Kuwait was also reported damaged.

American attacks increase in Iran  

America has also intensified attacks on Iran. Following the threat from US President Donald Trump, the US targeted several Iranian bridges, power equipment and towers built at an important port. The objective is said to be to weaken Iran’s hold on the Strait of Hormuz.

The US strikes hit cities and islands in Iran’s southern coastal areas such as Ahvaz, Qeshm, Bushehr, Dashti, Bostan, Sirik and Bandar e Lengheh. There has been a lot of damage at these places. At present, the process of attacks and counterattacks is going on from both the sides. This has further increased the tension in the entire Middle East.
