Senior actress of Kannada film industry Shailaja Srisailan passed away on Thursday due to age related ailments. He breathed his last at around 2 pm at his home in Vayyalikval, Bengaluru. There is a wave of mourning in the entire Kannada industry and fans due to the news of his demise.
Shailja was the wife of senior actor Srisailan. He is survived by son Shrikant and daughter Srivani. Shailaja Srisailan, who was active in Kannada cinema and TV for decades, worked in more than 100 films. These include films like 'A', 'Putt Hendati', 'Grihapravesh', 'Baare Nanna Muddil Rani', 'Anantan Avantar' and 'Uppi 2'.
Especially, she played many important roles including mother in many films of actor Upendra, due to which she created a special place in the hearts of the audience. Apart from films, he also did brilliant work in many popular Kannada TV serials like 'Mukta' and 'Mayamrig' and made his mark on the small screen as well.
The funeral took place on Thursday
Shailaja Srisailan's last rites were performed at Srirampur crematorium in Bengaluru on Thursday. During this time, family members, relatives and many people associated with the film industry were present. With his demise, Kannada cinema has lost another experienced artiste.
