Patna: A big political development has come to light in Bihar politics before the Bankipur by-election. Difficulties seem to be increasing for Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore amid the election environment. Many prominent leaders of the party have left Jan Suraj and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

During the meeting organized at the BJP state office in Patna on Wednesday, many leaders of Jan Suraj Party officially joined the BJP. During this, new members were welcomed in the presence of senior party leaders. Names like KC Sinha, Gopal Singh and Bittu Singh are prominent among those who joined BJP. Along with them, a large number of Jan Suraj’s supporters and workers also took membership of BJP.

Was a candidate in 2025 assembly elections

KC Sinha was made the candidate from Kumhrar Assembly seat on behalf of Jan Suraj in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Gopal Singh had contested the elections from Maner assembly constituency. Apart from this, Bittu Singh had got ticket from Digha assembly seat. Although the three leaders could not win the assembly elections, they were counted among the active faces of the party.

had already given indications

Bittu Singh had publicly indicated a few days ago that he was going to separate from Jan Suraj. He issued a letter stating his decision to leave the party. He had also said that he would support the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate in the Bankipur by-election. After his statement, discussions about his joining BJP had intensified, which has now been officially approved.

Challenge increased amid Prashant Kishor’s election

This entire incident has come to light at a time when Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishore himself is contesting as the party’s candidate in the Bankipur assembly by-election. It is considered politically important to leave the company of many prominent leaders of the party during the election campaign. This may also affect the electoral strategy and organizational strength. However, its real impact will be clear only after voting and election results.

No statement came from Jan Suraj

After these leaders joined BJP, discussions have intensified in political circles. However, till the time of writing the news, there was no official reaction from Jan Suraj Party on this entire incident. Political analysts believe that changing party of leaders just before the elections can create a challenge for any party. It will also be interesting to see how much impact it has in the Bankipur by-election and how voters view this change.
