Serie A champions Inter Milan have been linked with potential moves for Tottenham Hotspur players Djed Spence and Cristian Romero, though reports suggest that securing either deal would be far from straightforward for the Italian club.
According to a detailed report by Sportmediaset, Inter are considering Spence among their defensive options. However, at present, the English full-back is viewed as a possible late-window option rather than a primary target, with Gela Doue believed to be a more realistic signing for the Nerazzurri.
Spence’s valuation stands at around €35 million, a figure that has likely increased following his impressive World Cup performances. Such a high asking price would make it difficult for Inter to finalise a move unless a favourable opportunity arises later in the transfer window.
It is understood that preliminary discussions have taken place between Tottenham and Inter regarding Spence. During these talks, the North London club reportedly also offered Inter the chance to sign centre-back Cristian Romero, who is currently valued at over €50 million. However, completing that deal would also be challenging, primarily because the Argentine defender earns approximately €6.5 million per season.
Given the financial constraints, Romero’s salary would likely be beyond Inter’s current budget, forcing the Nerazzurri to explore alternative defensive options as the transfer window progresses.
