With France now out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, attention has turned once again to Michael Olise’s next move at the club level. According to a report from Foot Mercato, the French international is eager to secure a transfer to Real Madrid during the upcoming summer window.
Bayern Munich have been firm in their public stance, insisting that Olise is not available for transfer. However, Foot Mercato suggests that the situation behind the scenes is more complex. While the Bundesliga champions are keen to extend Olise’s current contract, they have also initiated contact with potential replacements, hinting at a possible openness to negotiations.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, have shown significant interest in signing the playmaker this summer. The La Liga giants are aiming to make a major statement after two consecutive seasons without claiming a major trophy. The club’s manager, José Mourinho, who made his return to the Santiago Bernabéu earlier this year, is said to have identified Olise as one of his key targets.
The Spanish side are reportedly preparing a record-breaking offer for the French midfielder, who is himself enthusiastic about a move to Madrid. Discussions between Olise and Bayern Munich are expected to take place once the player returns from international duty. Les Bleus were knocked out of the tournament by Spain on Tuesday but are still set to feature in the third-place play-off against either England or Argentina on Saturday.
