During its inaugural Gram Sabha meeting, the newly established Gram Panchayat Poolan, led by Pradhan Angrez Kapoor, adopted several key resolutions aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and serving the public interest.
The Gram Sabha reached a unanimous decision to cease issuing proposals or No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for development projects to any institution or committee. This decision stems from the observation that numerous committee-led initiatives over the past 15 years have either remained unfinished or failed to meet quality expectations. Moving forward, all development efforts will be conducted under the direct oversight of the Panchayat to ensure accountability.
Another critical resolution was the strong opposition to a proposed liquor shop located on the village’s main thoroughfare. The Gram Sabha expressed concerns about the shop's proximity to a ration shop and its location just 200 meters from a school, in addition to being situated in a busy public area. The Panchayat has decided to formally lodge its objection with the relevant authorities.
Additionally, the meeting addressed issues related to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, focusing on identifying eligible beneficiaries and discussing other developmental matters.
The resolutions made during this first Gram Sabha are viewed as a pivotal move towards fostering transparent governance, accountability, and prioritizing community welfare within Gram Panchayat Poolan.
