On Wednesday, Karnataka's Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar stated that the Bidadi Township project is not his "dream project." This remark comes amid ongoing political disputes surrounding the proposed development. Responding to criticism regarding the Bidadi project, Shivakumar expressed his sorrow over the recent events in Bidadi, alleging that political maneuvers are aimed at creating hardships for farmers.

Political Maneuvering and Farmer Concerns

Shivakumar conveyed his distress over the occurrences in Bidadi, questioning the political motivations behind them. He described the situation as a significant conspiracy to undermine farmers' livelihoods. The Chief Minister emphasized that he has never claimed ownership of the project, stating that he is merely continuing the initiatives set forth during H.D. Kumaraswamy's tenure.

Continuing the Legacy of H.D. Kumaraswamy

He reiterated, "I have never referred to the Bidadi project as my dream project. I am simply following the path laid out by the esteemed H.D. Kumaraswamy." Identifying himself as a farmer's son, Shivakumar acknowledged that despite not practicing agriculture, he understands the challenges faced by farmers. He remarked, "I am the son of a farmer, even if I have not farmed myself. I am aware of their experiences and struggles."

Facing Political Opposition

Targeting his political adversaries, Shivakumar noted that some individuals are unhappy since his ascension to the Chief Minister's office and are allegedly plotting against him. He stated, "Some cannot tolerate this and have been restless since I became CM. I am aware of the schemes devised to send me to jail, which I will reveal another day." Referring to H.D. Kumaraswamy's comments, he added, "Today, H.D. Kumaraswamy mentioned that soon D.K. Shivakumar will go to jail. I hope your wish comes true. Jail is not a new experience for me."

Land Acquisition for Development Projects

Shivakumar pointed out that land acquisition for development projects has occurred previously, including for the Bengaluru Airport and areas like Krishna and Hassan.
