New Delhi. In a public meeting held in Rawalakot of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Joint Awami Action Committee leader Sardar Aman Khan has directly challenged the government of Pakistan. He said that this area is not free but an occupied area. Thousands of people supported his statement with applause and slogans.

This statement of Sardar Aman Khan is completely different from Pakistan’s official stance in which this region has always been called Azad Kashmir. After this statement, thousands of people present in the public meeting supported him with applause and slogans. Thousands of people gathered in this public meeting held in Rawalakot. This meeting took place amidst the movement which has been going on in different parts of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir for the last several days. In this movement, people have taken to the streets regarding electricity problem, rising inflation, administrative system and many other issues.

Amidst this atmosphere, Aman Khan addressed the people from the stage. He said in clear words, this is not a disputed area, it is an area under illegal occupation, it has been occupied. Hearing his statement, the crowd present there clapped loudly and started shouting slogans. This support from the people shows that many people present in the area also have similar sentiments. It is noteworthy that Pakistan has always called this region Azad Kashmir, but this statement of Aman Khan directly challenges that old narrative. His statement has come at a time when the anger of the people in the area has already increased due to administrative shortcomings and economic problems.
