Congress state general secretary Nidhi Chaturvedi had accused Digvijay Singh of public protest regarding the land of Veer Bharat Trust in Ujjain. The statement given against Jitu Patwari was condemned. After which MP Congress Committee’s organization in-charge Sanjay Kamle issued him a show cause notice. A reply was also sought within 7 days. While sharing a post on Facebook, Nidhi Chaturvedi said that she has replied to the notice issued on July 3 on July 9.
Congress General Secretary has termed the notice issued by Sanjay Kamle as unconstitutional and unauthorized. She said, “I am the General Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, not the General Secretary or General Secretary of any district. My post is also equivalent to that of the organization in-charge, so in what constitutional capacity did you issue me a notice.” Nidhi Chaturvedi has also alleged in the notice that there was a deliberate mistake in the designation and not giving any clear reason.
Cited Congress Party rules
Nidhi Chaturvedi said in the letter, “The organization in-charge does not have any right to issue punitive or show cause notice to any of his counterpart state officials. This right is reserved only with the State Congress President or the constituted State Disciplinary Action Committee. He has also made allegations of selectively targeting and taking action. He said, “Many senior leaders of the party had raised objections against this development. But only I was selected as the target and a notice was sent. Why was no disciplinary action taken against other leaders?” He has made allegations of gender and social discrimination.
Defamation allegation, clarification sought within 7 days
In the letter, the Congress State General Secretary said, “The letter was deliberately leaked to the media and social media even before I received it officially. Due to which my personal social reputation and political image was damaged.” He has warned of taking defamation action in this matter.
He further said, “Your written clarification on the defamatory act and action promoting gender and social discrimination at the organizational level is expected within 7 days. If your reply is not satisfactory, then legal action can be taken against this unauthorized work.”
