Pakistani actor and renowned comedian Sohail Ahmed has shared emotional details about the final days of the late comedian and stage performer Allah Rakha, popularly known by his stage names Pepsi and Pani Puri. Speaking on a recent comedy talk show, Sohail Ahmed reflected on the circumstances surrounding his close friend’s sudden passing and revealed that the comedian had been enduring significant emotional stress to his daughter’s marital problems.

According to Sohail Ahmed, Allah Rakha was an exceptionally talented performer who possessed a natural gift for comedy and had complete command over his craft. He described him as a man of great dignity, self-respect, and integrity, adding that despite facing serious financial hardships throughout his life, he never sought financial assistance from others.

“He was one of the most self-respecting people I have ever known,” Sohail Ahmed said. “Even during difficult financial times, he never extended his hand to ask anyone for help.”

During the interview, Sohail Ahmed revealed that Allah Rakha had been deeply distressed over the difficulties in his daughter’s married life. He said the late comedian often expressed concern about his daughter’s well-being and was emotionally burdened by the situation.

According to Sohail Ahmed, Allah Rakha’s son-in-law allegedly subjected his daughter to repeated emotional and physical abuse while also making frequent financial demands. He claimed that the son-in-law continued to pressure Allah Rakha for money, leaving the comedian feeling helpless and overwhelmed.

“He would often tell me that it had become impossible for him to meet his son-in-law’s financial demands,” Sohail Ahmed recalled. “He was extremely worried about his daughter and wanted to protect her, but he felt powerless.”

Sohail Ahmed further recounted a heartbreaking moment that occurred during Allah Rakha’s funeral. He said that while the funeral arrangements were underway, a young man approached him and informed him that Allah Rakha’s daughter had been divorced on the very same day.

“I was deeply shocked when I heard that news,” he said.

According to Sohail Ahmed, the devastating news reportedly emerged only a few hours before Allah Rakha suffered the fatal heart attack that claimed his life. While he acknowledged that Allah Rakha had a history of heart- health problems, he believes the emotional trauma may also have played a role in worsening his condition.

“I don’t know what pain he was silently carrying inside,” Sohail Ahmed said. “It is possible that this immense grief contributed to his passing.”

He added that although Allah Rakha had been experiencing heart- issues for some time, he was reluctant to seek proper medical treatment. Despite his health concerns, the veteran comedian continued fulfilling his professional commitments and remained dedicated to entertaining audiences.

Sohail Ahmed also expressed his belief that Allah Rakha’s family may have informed him about his daughter’s divorce before he left home for the television recording, although he clarified that this was his personal impression rather than a confirmed fact

The 50-year-old comedian tragically suffered a heart attack while performing during the recording of a private television program. He collapsed during the live broadcast and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the doctors’ efforts to save his life, he could not be revived and was pronounced dead.
