Joe Root handled the innings alone
In England’s innings, wickets kept falling from one end but Joe Root stood like a rock at the other end. He faced the Indian bowlers bravely and returned unbeaten after scoring 76 runs on 76 balls. Apart from Root, Liam Dawson played an important inning of 68 runs in 83 balls, while Ben Duckett scored 43 runs in 45 balls.
