Tax exemption and financial help to vehicle owners

It is seen that the government has announced many big incentives to make this scheme attractive. ‘New Travel Plan’ Under this, owners exchanging old vehicles will get 100% exemption in motor vehicle tax. Apart from this, the registration fee of new vehicle will also be completely waived. Not only this, the government is also preparing to provide other financial assistance so that the financial burden of purchasing new vehicles on transport operators is reduced and they can easily replace their old vehicles. Regarding this, experts believe that such incentives can promote rapid vehicle transformation in the commercial sector.

BS-IV and old vehicles will be out

Under the plan, it is being said that BS-IV and older trucks and buses will be removed from the roads in a phased manner. In their place, BS-VI standard vehicles and electric commercial vehicles will be brought. Regarding this, the government believes that this will not only reduce air pollution, but will also give a new impetus to clean and environment-friendly commercial mobility in Delhi-NCR. In such a situation, this step can become the basis of major changes in the transport sector in the coming years.

Rs 9,585 crore scheme

Giving information, the government has said that the total budget of this ambitious scheme has been kept at Rs 9,585 crore. In this, the Central Government will provide financial support of Rs 5,041 crore through the National Capital Region Planning Board. It is estimated that about 2.07 lakh truck and bus owners will get the direct benefit of this scheme. Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh has expressed confidence that this scheme will play a big role in reducing pollution, promoting clean transportation and helping transport operators modernize their old fleet.
