At just 18 years old, Cristian Orozco has already started making waves in professional football. The defensive midfielder has five senior appearances for Fortaleza CEIF to his name and has also captained Colombia’s Under-17 national side, showcasing his leadership potential early in his career.
Cristian Orozco talks about his style of play
In a recent interview with ESPN Colombia, as reported by Sport Witness, Orozco opened up about his key strengths and what he hopes to contribute once he joins United. Speaking with confidence, he highlighted his physical and technical abilities, while also acknowledging that his success will depend heavily on how quickly he adapts to his new surroundings.
“I know my strengths are my physicality and my technique. I have those qualities and, with the gift God gave me, I don’t think it will be too difficult. But everything is about adapting. I’m very young and that’s what I’ll need to do,” Orozco explained.
He continued, “I want to arrive and learn as quickly as possible. That’s what’s required so I can show my level and everything I’m capable of. I want to adapt to everything that comes my way as quickly as possible.”
Cristian Orozco on overcoming his first hurdle at United
Following the precedent set by players like Sekou Kone and Diego Leon, Orozco is expected to stay at Carrington to train with the squad rather than being loaned out in his first season. He emphasised that one of his first objectives will be improving his English, recognising how essential communication will be to his development both on and off the pitch.
“I expect to learn a lot of English. When I was there, I realised just how, how important it is,” he said.
United supporters are eagerly awaiting the club’s official announcement confirming Orozco’s signing. Many hope that the young Colombian midfielder will quickly settle into life in Manchester and begin showing the talent and maturity that have already made him a standout in his age group.
