New Delhi: The effect of increasing military tension between Iran and America is now clearly visible on the global oil market. After the sharp rise in crude oil prices, many countries have increased their fuel prices. Pakistan has also increased the prices of petrol and diesel, passing the impact of rising costs directly on the common people. At present, consumers in India are relieved because no new changes have been made in the prices of petrol, diesel and CNG yet.
In the international market, the price of Brent crude oil increased to about $ 78.96 per barrel. Experts believe that there is pressure in the oil market due to increasing tension in West Asia and uncertainty regarding supply. This is the reason why fuel has started becoming expensive in many countries.
Petrol and diesel prices increased in Pakistan
Amid rising oil prices, the Pakistan government has increased the prices of both petrol and high-speed diesel. According to the new rates, the price of petrol has been increased by Pakistani rupees 13.18 per liter and that of high-speed diesel by Pakistani rupees 13.80 per liter. After this amendment, petrol in Pakistan has reached the level of Pakistani rupees 310.71 per liter and high-speed diesel has reached the level of Pakistani rupees 323.30 per liter. The rising prices are likely to have a direct impact on the common people and transportation costs.
Prices were continuously increasing since February
The process of fuel becoming expensive in Pakistan started from the end of February this year. After increasing tension in West Asia, there was a continuous rise in oil prices in the international market. It is being told that on April 3, the price of diesel had reached 520.35 Pakistani rupees per liter, which was considered to be the highest level till date. Similarly, petrol also reached a record level of Pakistani rupees 458.41 per liter. Current prices are certainly lower than those record levels, but are still putting additional economic burden on the common people.
Currently prices are stable in India
While many countries increased domestic prices after oil became expensive in the international market, at present the prices of petrol and diesel in India remain stable. Consumers have not faced any new increase yet. However, experts say that if crude oil prices remain at a high level for a long time, it may affect India’s fuel market in future.
India gave relief during the war
There have been ups and downs in the fuel market before. When international crude oil prices had increased and many countries had made petrol and diesel expensive, there was no change in prices in India for a long time. During that time, the Central Government had also reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel to provide relief to the consumers. Later, after the elections were over, the prices were increased in four phases in the month of May.
