New Delhi: Britain has announced to take a major step against Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The British government has announced that IRGC will be declared a terrorist organization. After the implementation of this decision, supporting this organization or taking part in any kind of activity to it will be considered a legal offense in Britain.

Giving information about this decision, Britain’s Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said that this decision has been taken after a thorough evaluation of all aspects to national security. The government says that the available evidence indicates that the IRGC has been involved in activities that pose a threat to Britain’s security and national interests.

According to Britain’s Home Ministry, discussions were going on at the political and security level for a long time to ban this organization. On the basis of reports and security inputs received from various agencies, the government came to the conclusion that strict action is necessary against IRGC.

The government has also announced that preparations are being made to include the Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right (IMCR) and the Russian Federation Volunteer Corps (an organization affiliated with the GRU) in the list of banned organizations.
